"Ready for Christmas"

As we get closer and closer
to December 25th
we're going to hear
the question again and again.
Are you "Ready for Christmas?"

But - what does,
"Ready for Christmas"
really mean?

To many it means,
Have you got your shopping done?
Gifts wrapped? Stockings hung?

But - to the author of this poem
I think it meant something
else entirely.

Ready for Christmas

"Ready for Christmas," she said with a sigh
As she gave the last touch to the gifts piled high...

Then wearily sat for a moment and read
Till soon, very soon, she was nodding her head.

Then quietly spoke a voice in her dream,
"Ready for Christmas, what do you mean?"

She woke with a start and a cry of despair.
There's so little time, and I've still to prepare.

Oh, Father, forgive me, I see what you mean!
Yes, more than giving of gifts and a tree,
It's the heart swept clean that He wanted to see,

A heart that is free from bitterness and sin.
So ready for Christmas.... and ready for Him.

It's Not What You Know - It's Who You Know

Last Sunday, I was out of town visiting my daughter
and her family and I attended Sunday School
and church with them.
Normally, I love their Sunday School class.
I love hearing what their Sunday School
teacher, Dan, presents to us.
It always seems to be thought provoking and
either relevant to what I have been studying myself, or
it's something I need to hear. And I'm meaning something I
need to hear - as in -  something that speaks to my heart
and convicts me of an area in which I need
to change, not something that soothes me and makes
me comfortable exactly where I am.
Last Sunday was different.
Dan was not there.
There was a substitute.
This substitute was a very sharply dressed man.
His suit looked to be custom made, his shoes were shiny
and his shirt was professionally pressed. He was sharp!
He looked sharp! And when he spoke it was
obvious that his message was well prepared and
he knew what he was talking about.
He talked about Jesus as our
high priest and how he was an advocate who
could speak to God on our behalf.
The man was an eloquent speaker and the
message was well delivered.
But - I was disappointed!
Why?
Because, as a mere human being if I were
to go and speak to a priest, I would
feel the need to get up, get dressed, fix my
hair and put some make up on.
I would have to make myself presentable!
And I see Jesus as much more than that.
Jesus - the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords,
is sooooo much more than our high priest!
Yes - he is our high priest and our advocate.
But - he is also our BROTHER and FRIEND.
When we become children of God,
we become joint heirs with Jesus.
He's our BROTHER.
Our BROTHER is THE KING!
We can be comfortable talking to him,
as our brother, while wearing pajamas.
We are SIBLINGS!
Siblings are often required to
work together..... to clean a room....
to muck a stall.... to clean the yard.....
clean the garage.... or even
to minister to those in need!
As they work together, they get dirty.
They sweat! They become unpresentable.
AND
Jesus is much more approachable than
a high priest. He's a FRIEND. And as our
friend, we can come to him AS WE ARE
and he will help us become who we
were meant to be.
This eloquent speaker.... this important,
well dressed man, failed to present
that part of the message.
However, had Dan been teaching,
that is exactly what I would have
expected to hear.
Because Dan doesn't just teach us about
what he knows. He teaches us
about who he knows.
And it's WHO you know
that matters.

And while this is a true story about my own experience, Dan could
be anybody. I actually cannot even remember what Dan looks like. I don't know
if he wears jeans or slacks or if his shirt is wrinkled or pressed.  I can't even tell you
the color of  his hair..... or if he has hair!
All I know is that when I walk away from that classroom after
hearing Dan teach - I am thinking of Jesus.
And I think that's how it should be.

Why I Am Afraid for America's Children.....

What I am seeing in America
today makes me want to cry.
Really!
It is enough to break one down
to the point of despair.
What is this world coming to?
I am normally not one to
rock the boat, but
ENOUGH is ENOUGH!
People need to be warned.
PARENTS ESPECIALLY!
If you have a child or grand child
headed to public school this year,
please PAY ATTENTION!
The LGBT has gotten their agenda
into the schools and they want to
indoctrinate your children.
Read this:

The Bible has been tossed aside,
but look what's being allowed in!
 Your child's elementary teacher
will most likely receive the following
letter in their back to school packet
THIS YEAR!
 Your Middle School Teacher
may be given the following poster.
And your government is not just
sitting by and allowing it.
Your government is leading it!
PARENTS
Know what is happening
in your child's school and in their classroom!
If your child has a Christian teacher,
let them know they have your support.
Encourage them.... and appreciate them!
If you see these materials in
your child's classroom,
stand up for your Christian beliefs!
Let's FIGHT THIS!
We have sat idle long enough.
If we continue to allow things
like this to happen there is
NO HOPE for OUR CHILDREN'S FUTURE!
 PRAY for your CHILDREN!
PRAY for their SCHOOLS!
PRAY for their TEACHERS!
and remember...
He that is not with me
is against me;
and he that gathereth not
with me
scattereth abroad.
Matthew 12:30
If your school cannot stand up
and shout that they are
FOR JESUS,
it may be time to consider
homeschooling or a Christian School.

A VERY SERIOUS WARNING!!!!!!!

 This is a SERIOUS WARNING!
People.....we have to pay attention!

It has just been brought to my attention that Zondervan, who is the publisher of the NIV version of The Bible has been bought out by  Harper Collins.

Now.... if you have a public schooled child - you may be familiar with Harper Collins. They are a major curriculum publisher. But - what you may not know is that Harper Collins also publishes books that teach things that are contrary to God's word. Book such as
and

Harper Collins if now re-writing it's Bibles.
Not only are they making it gender neutral, they are removing words such as Jehovah, calvary, Holy Ghost and omnipotent.
This is totally WRONG!

If you believe that
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God.  All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. John1:1-3

Then you know that the Bible is perfect as it is and that
it doesn't need changing.
GOD'S WORD IS HOLY!
It should be preserved!

Try and find these scriptures in the NIV (some ESV Bibles have also been affected) on your computer, phone or device right now if you are in doubt:

Matthew 17:21
Matthew 18:11
Matthew 23:14
Mark 7:16
Mark 9:44
Mark  9:46
 Luke 17:36
Luke 23:17
John 5:4
Acts 8:37

And if you don't have a print version of The Holy Bible, it would be a very good idea to go out and buy one. That way - you can be sure to have one that has not been effected by these changes. I personally read the KJV, and to my knowledge the KJV has not been changed. But - the real point I want to make is - we all need to hold fast to what we know is true. We need to hide God's word in our hearts..... and we need to study it daily so we are not deceived.
Please, please, please make sure you have a Bible with the above verses in it. One that is not gender neutral and that hasn't been tampered with. Keep an extra copy. We've all heard of people keeping survival supplies, such as food and emergency provisions, but spiritual survival is so much more important than physical survival - and our spiritual survival is being threatened. Don't be caught off guard. Keep a Holy Bible close at hand!

And remember - electronic versions of the Bible are often updated. The Bible is timeless and needs no updating. If you want to read on a Kindle or and iPad, that's fine - but keep a REAL Bible on hand and be aware of any updates to your electronic editions.

GUARD YOUR BIBLES!

A Missionary is Coming.....

Our sweet Gracie wants
to be a missionary!
She is always thinking of ways
to share with others.
From putting together
Christmas Gift Bags
for the Homeless to
writing Bible verses on the
sidewalks with sidewalk chalk,
our Gracie has it in her
heart to spread the gospel.
And - she's coming to
my house TONIGHT!
She had her Momma call
yesterday to let me know
she wants to do a balloon release.
She wanted me to prepare
verses to tie onto balloons
to release into the sky
to go where ever God sends them.
 So here they are!
Our little ones don't have to
wait to be missionaries.
They don't have to grow up first.
They can be missionaries
right where they are by just
spreading God's love and
God's word.
AMERICA needs missionaries
as bad as anyone!
So - if your children would
like to do their own
balloon send off, you may

free printables.

Words Are Not Just Words

I know I'm a little peculiar
and my thoughts are very different
from the vast majority of people.
Spiritually, I'm a minority.
Sin bothers me.
And it breaks my heart to hear
a loved one speak profanity.
WORDS are IMPORTANT
WORDS are POWERFUL
WORDS can be HEALING
and
WORDS can be HURTFUL
And by your own words, you will
be justified or condemned.

Using bad words is being
directly disobedient to God!

Graceful words are
pleasing to God!

And there is POWER in your WORDS!

Our speech is something I think
we can all improve on. Even those of
us who do not use curse words,
can ask God for wisdom when it comes
to our words and learn to speak
more graciously.
Let's use our words wisely.
Let's speak life into our children
and grand children and to
those whose lives we touch.

Let's remember what THE WORD
tells us about words and let
us come to an understanding that
words are not just words.
 WORDS are POWER.
 Use them wisely!
